Maple Raisin Sauce for Baked Ham
- Featured on WHAI
- 1 c. Grade B maple syrup
- 1/2 c. Water
- 1 c. Raisins, golden or dark
- 2 Tbl. Butter
- 1 Small onion, chopped fine
- 3 Tbls. Vinegar (malt or balsamic are very good
choices)
- Pinch salt
- Pinch ground cloves
- 1/8 tsp. Black pepper
- 1/4 tsp. Coleman’s dry mustard
- 1 Tbl. Flour

Directions
Sauté small onion in butter until slightly golden.
Add all above ingredients. Cook until thickened, stirring
occasionally. It takes about 3-4 minutes to thicken.
Baste ham with some of the sauce toward the end. Top
the ham with the rest of the sauce before serving. If
you are a vegetarian, this sauce would be delicious
on baked apples. |
